Over on our Tiktok & Instagram feeds, we often see hacks and recipes that sometimes seem too good to be true. So, we thought we would try a few of them with you and share the results. ENJOY.
We couldn't scroll past this recipe for a Healthy Chocolate Cake with only 3 ingredients. Surely this wouldn't take good? We had to eat our own words (and the cake) when it turned out super delicious and the whole family loved it. No refined sugar - YAY - and absolutely NO nasties.
Quick & Easy Healthy Chocolate Cake
Here is what you will need:
2 cups of Medjool Dates
5-6 Tbs of Cacao
3 Eggs
2 tsp of Baking Powder
Pinch of Salt
Simply blitz your dates, then add your cacao then your eggs, baking powder and salt - Blitz Blitz Blitz until it all comes together in your food processor and looks like a thick cake batter. Pop it in a cake tin and bake for 30min at 175c
Yup. It really is that easy....Some tips from us:
if your dates are on the harder side, simply soak them in warm water for 5-10 minutes before you blitz them.
it is very rich - so you only need a small portion - we cut this one into wedges, but our next one we did small squares - perfect for school lunches and a snack with a cuppa.
We added a little bit of icing - make from 1 tbs maple syrup, 1tbs of coconut oil and 1.5tbs of cacao - play around with qty's on this one until you get the amount and the taste you like - our girls didn't really like the icing, so we only make a small amount.
